We ARE already dead to sin, sir!

"I can remember if I think back what I heard in the church when it came to the sin issue is Rom 3:23, 1 John 1:8 and 9.... but never and hardly ever heard them preach on Rom 6 ........which speaks about that we are dead to sin and that we have now risen to new life, that we are united together in His likeness in His death and we shall now live in the likeness of His resurrection."
