Submit to God by allowing God to renew your mind

I thought this was pretty good...

"Know this, that when you become a child of God, nothing can separate you from his love. He will never ever condemn you for anything that you will likely do or are doing that is against his will after you become a Christian (a child of God, a believer in Jesus Christ).

He will not take you to the woodshed as many ministers claim today. He lovingly disciplines a child of God. If you think that you have disappointed God, you are very far from the truth. Turn away from your prideful sin of thinking that those works of "yours" are worth anything to God to begin with, instead of understanding that it is his "good works" through you being everything.

Submit to God by allowing God to renew your mind with a thankful and humble heart today. Agree with God this moment in time, that Jesus took away the sin you have committed, will commit, and are committing; never to see it or hold it against you ever again. Behold, The Lamb of God, that took away the sins of the world. Rejoice!, I say again rejoice in the Lord always! Thank You Jesus."

Hey dude. My name is Jordan. I just want to say that i looked up the greek word for "scourgeth" for the passage Hebrews 12:6.This passage is talking about God disciplining us. Well the greek word for scourgeth is "to flog." And what does flog mean... TO BEAT SEVERELY. So much for that lovign discipline. If we are going by the bible we must not make our own conclusions. God will discipline you and it may just hurt.

Hey Jordan..thanks for the post...but i have to admit, i don't believe that is what the Hebrews text is saying. one of the 5 principles of Hermeneutics (the interpretation if scripture) says that scripture interprets scripture. Your interpretation of the text doesn't line up with the general overall view of the New Covenant.

Herma what?????????????? I am saying if we are to take the words of Jesus seriously, why not pick up a Strong's Concordance and investigate? This is exactly what I did. "Scourge" means "to flog." And that means to "beat severely." Is Jesus a liar or is He God?
