Paul's, i mean Jesus' gospel.

"There are two great revelators, or unfolders of Divine Truth in the Bible-Moses in the Old Testament, and Paul in the New. Someone may say, "Is not Christ the Great Teacher?" In a sense this is true; but in a real sense Christ is the Person taught about, rather than teaching, in the Gospels. The law and the prophets pointed forward to Christ; the Epistles point back to Him......... The Four Gospels tell the story how He was revealed to men, and rejected by them. Christ, Himself, therefore is the theme of the Bible. Moses in the Law reveals God's holiness, and thus by means of the Law reveals human sin, and the utter hopelessness and helplessness of man. Paul in his great Epistles reveals Christ as our Righteousness, Sanctification, Redemption, and All in All."

William R. Newell

..........Obviously Paul didn't write the whole NT....but we do know that he wrote most of it...ie...his (Pauls and therefor Jesus') message to us IS grace, grace, grace....that is, Christ BEING OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS, SANCTIFICATION, REDEMPTION, OUR ALL IN ALL...which is through NONE of our own effort but through faith from first to last.

...thats right folks...thats why its nearly-too-good-to-be-true news!!

great quote- i agree mostly, but have to differ slightly.
Jesus came primarily as a servant to save a dead and dying people.
Paul was mandated to spread the gospel message, however the Holy Spirit is the one who inspired every word and he is ultimately our VERY GREAT TEACHER. No one can teach us about grace the way that He can! The message of grace is not about some warm, fuzzy sounding theory but it is about a revolution that is being lived out with the Holy Spirit as our comforter, advocate and teacher.

Dan my man...I agree with you, but i also agree with the quote (is that possible?)...that why he says in his quote that Christ IS the One being taught about. The Law and prophets pointed to Him and the epistles point back to Him...The Holy Spirit IS the One who points us to Jesus...so its the Holy Spirit right the way through the bible...The messgage of grace is about Jesus who Is grace, what He did to redeem us and sanctify us and what he continues to do to redeem us and sanctify us, with no works part of our own...He did it all...for me the grace revolution is this very thing which, through revolutionaries (people) the Holy Spirit is trying to remind us of...sometimes truth might mean warm fuzzy feelings for some, for others not, still doesnt matter though, truth is truth.

How about this? What Jesus proclaimed by the indwelling Spirit of God: He spoke about Himself:the Way, the Truth, the Life; Paul explained by the indwelling Spirit within him.

100% Ry...my sentiments exactly...the Holy Spirit can and does use people, but not to control, to bring freedom through the grace of Christ...i think men have taken it upon THEMSELVES to build the Church, and we know Jesus said HE would...so those very same men use secular principles (marketing, control, domination, manipulation, carrot dangling..you get the idea) to build...only way to do that is mix old and new, law and grace...when the Holy Spirit builds, he uses freedom, preached through he grace of Christ...what you think?

We think the world is waiting for the "Good News"; not another Christian self-help best seller. We think Jesus is enough and if we don't think so we need to look again at the cross. And we know Grace is the answer, whatever the question.
